Intake & Assessment
The client's first contact with the facility starts with the intake department. Here the client is assessed for treatment services, financial and referral sources, medical and support service needs such as individual or group therapy with mental health clinician, parenting and anger management services.
SAP - Substance Abuse Treatment Services

The client populations we serve range from parole, prop 36, medical funding, private pay, DCS and court referred just to name a few. The clients are assessed through our intake department, where trained intake specialists provide an assessment of the clients needs in treatment, including length of stay, appropriate groups and support services. Clients will start by attending a minimum of 2 groups a week early recovery skills and 1 individual session which includes treatment planning. Also included in treatment is random drug screening.

Parenting Classes
Our support services include a wide range of parenting classes to fill the different needs of families today. We have a Court/DCS approved Parenting class which teaches tools, offers group support and educates our clients about the law and rights of children and individuals. We also provide step-parenting classes that addresses the needs of blended families, and a grand-parenting class which looks at the changing dynamics of community needs, and addresses many who are finding themselves again in a parenting role.
Prevention and School Based Therapy Services
Vista guidance centers take pride in their early prevention and intervention of behavioral health services, reaching out to school districts and providing prevention specialists and EPSDT therapists at many individual school sites. Prevention specialists work with each school to build programs and interventions to help improve attendance and engagement in educational process, while helping to decrease behaviors which can lead to disciplinary problems. The school based EPSDT therapist can provide early detection and intervention on many behavioral problems which persist or may require on-going individual intensive treatment, including assessment for medication services. Crisis intervention and referral to families and students is also available having a trained staff at the school site.
